Oh these were so good, and they made my house smell like an old fashioned bakery too!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 and 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (or mini m&ms)

Instructions

  1. n a large bowl whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl beat together the softened butter and sugars using an electric mixer.
  3. Add in the honey, vanilla, and egg and continue beating until combined.
  4. Turn the mixer down to low and beat in the flour mixture until almost combined. Add in the oats and beat on medium speed until combined.
  5. Then turn off the mixer and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Chill dough in fridge for 2 hours.
  7. Roll or scoop into 1.5 inch balls. Flaten slightly.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool on cookie tray for 10 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.
